These outings will offer a chance to explore a variety of local habitats and learn more about the migratory birds that spend stop-over time during the winter, as well as endemic species that are in our region year-round.
Each location provides its own perspective on the Bay’s landscapes and wildlife, with opportunities for both new and experienced birders to enjoy time outdoors.
Birding walks are rain or shine—wet weather is part of winter birding, so please dress
accordingly. Certain locations may be canceled or rescheduled if safety hazards arise.
Winged Migration Expo will notify registrants of cancellations by email. For excursions not requiring reservations, check this site for notifications before leaving home.

Calling all young creators, builders, artists, and explorers!
The Winged Migration Expo Student STEAM Challenge is here, and K–12 Solano County students are invited to take part in a fun, creative contest celebrating birds, migration, wetlands, and flyways!

STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math, and students can explore any (or all!) of these through their projects. Build, design, draw, code, sculpt, experiment, or model — any format is welcome.
Every project will be displayed at the Winged Migration Expo, with chances to win prizes for creativity and innovation.
Project Drop-Off: Friday, January 30, 2026
Expo Dates: January 31 & February 1, 2026
